Many people use large, complex passwords to secure their smartphones. Some people use fingerprint and facial recognition technology to protect themselves from password hacking. However, a team of researchers from the cybersecurity firm ThreatFabric have found that the Chameleon Android banking trojan malware can bypass the security measures of fingerprint and facial recognition technology, allowing users to unlock their phones without their knowledge. This malware can also steal the security PIN of any phone and control it remotely.

According to a report by ThreatFabric, a new version of the Chameleon Trojan malware has been found. It is being spread through fake Android apps that are disguised as Google Chrome. In April of this year, the malware was also spread through fake apps for various organizations and banks in Australia. The malware can collect the device's security code by bypassing the Google Play Protect alert security system. Even antivirus software from various organizations cannot detect this malware.

According to ThreatFabric, the new version of the Chameleon Android banking Trojan malware can be used to gain access to any device component at will. The malware can even steal passwords stored on the phone. Therefore, cyber security experts recommend that users verify the identity of the developers before downloading apps, as well as using the Play Protect scan feature of the Google Play Store to stay safe.

Here are some tips to protect your smartphone from the Chameleon Android banking trojan malware.

•Only download apps from trusted sources, such as the Google Play Store.

•Keep your smartphone's operating system and apps up to date.

•Use a strong password and enable two-factor authentication for your banking and other important accounts.

•Be careful about what links you click on and what files you download.

By following these tips, you can help protect your smartphone from this dangerous malware.
